Dr George Malecky is a specialist Paediatric Surgeon and has provided paediatric surgery services for children and their referring doctors in Canberra and South Eastern New South Wales for more than 30 years.
Dr Malecky has trained extensively and his training centres include Royal Childrens Hospital - Melbourne, Mater Childrens Hospital – Brisbane, Royal Prince Alfred Hospital – Sydney and Royal Hobart Hospital. Dr Malecky obtained his Royal Australasian College of Surgeons fellowship in Paediatric Surgery and is a member of ANZAPS (Australian and New Zealand Association of Paediatric Surgeons).
Dr Malecky has provided rural outreach services in Paediatric Surgery for many years and has also been involved in the care of ROMAC patients (Rotary Oceania Medical Aid for Children)
Dr Malecky has been Clinical Director of Paediatric Surgery at The Canberra Hospital for 18 years and has been actively involved in the teaching of Paediatric Surgery Registrars, Residents and Medical Students.
Dr Malecky consults on all patients with a wide variety of paediatric surgical conditions and offers convenient and prompt access to surgery, where required, with a specialist Paediatric Anaesthetist in attendance. Consultation is in a child friendly environment, with respect for patients’ cultural and social beliefs. Interpreting services can be arranged where required. All required surgeries are performed by Dr Malecky.
